School of Theater

Celestial Fabric began as a scenic element for the School of Theater’s production of Seven Hoshi, a new play written and directed by guest artist Lisa Sanaye Dring. The play, in part, is about the connectivity of people; past, present, and future, through the celestial realm. These “ties that bind” us create a fabric of sorts as they weave through time and space.

Unfortunately, due to a shortage of resources, mainly time, the piece did not reach its full potential before the show opened. Knowing the piece could be taken further, if resources were available, it was saved from the dumpster as so much scenery finds itself. Here now, with new materials and many more hours of work is a more colorful and electrifying Celestial Fabric.
