“Generated Quietude” entwines interactive art, meditation, and music for a unique immersive experience. While technology is often deemed a cause of distraction, here it is applied as an instigator of introspection. You are invited to enter the booth, put on the noise-cancelling headphones, and move your hand over the table. Lose yourself in your hands, wind, sound, and movement. Step away from the fast-paced world for a moment and refocus into your own thoughts. It is up you how long you stay, how you move, and what insights you take away.
The project is a melding of Jules Hyun’s experience creating meditative spaces through technological intervention and Kat Parker’s continued exploration of the hypnotic nature of everyday objects and self-love. It is also a collaboration with the participants who make the artwork come alive with their movements.
