“Young Phil” is a short film that is written as an absurd imagining of a new CBS show about the life and upbringing of a young Phil McGraw, known to the public as Dr. Phil. A natural extension of origin story sitcoms like “Young Sheldon” and “Young Rock”, this film explores the issues with our nostalgia-laden culture and our era’s current moment of hyper-postmodern self-reflexivity.
